If you are one of those Operating Department Practitioners who have stuck their head in the sand and is hoping that the need for CPD will go away or that you will not be selected for audit of your CPD profile by the Health Professions Council then I'm afraid I have some bad news for you, CPD is here to stay and the chances of you being selected for CPD is about 1 in 20. In realistic terms you have a much lesser chance of winning £10 on the National Lottery. If you don't carry out CPD to the standards that the HPC have set you are gambling with your livelihood.

 

CPD is new to all ODPs and you are not the only ODP to have concerns about the whole process. With less than a year to the audit process, now is the time to get stuck in and get organised.
